Welcome to Roxbury Village School!
About our School:
Roxbury Village School (RVS) is one of four schools in the Montpelier Roxbury Public Schools district. Roxbury is a small town in Washington County located in north-central Vermont, approximately 25 miles southwest of Montpelier on route 12A. RVS is a preK-4 school with roughly 50 students in four combined classrooms.
- RVS is proud to have an established and vibrant outdoor school activities program. Students actively participate in planting and harvesting food from our beautiful gardens. They also regularly visit a local farm to learn about various plants and animals through hands on lessons. Additionally, RVS is lucky to have a farm-to-school coordinator that teaches students about farming, nature, and leads students in preparing and cooking various recipes to be served throughout the school year. All of this can now be completed in our brand new kitchen, featuring stainless steel commercial grade appliances.
- RVS is a PBIS school that works diligently to foster the growth of the whole child. We have a PBIS coordinator that regularly leads community building activities in and out of the classroom. The students strive to be respectful, responsible, and safe every day!
- Technology is a key piece of our instructional practices at RVS, which is crucial for 21st century learning. We have 1:1 iPads to utilize in the classroom as well as a laptop cart with Chromebooks. Furthermore, classroom teachers are able to coordinate with the technology integrationist and implement ideas into daily lessons and monthly units.
- An active and highly effective PTO is the backbone of the RVS community. Sponsoring school trips, providing academic materials to classrooms, holding fundraisers, supporting families in need, and bringing the community together during annual gatherings are just some of the fantastic things that occur yearly.
